1. Introduction
These Terms govern your use of the Protein-X mobile app. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. About Protein-X
Protein-X is an AI-powered protein tracking tool that lets you scan food with your phone camera, estimates the protein content of your meal, and helps you hit your daily protein target with personalised suggestions and a map of nearby high-protein options. Protein-X is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified nutritionist or doctor.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Protein-X. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the app complies with local laws and regulations.
4. Account & Authentication
Sign-in is provided via Apple Sign In and Google Sign In. You are responsible for the security of the underlying Apple ID or Google account. We may suspend or restrict accounts in case of misuse, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
5. Free Tier & Pro Subscription
The free tier of Protein-X includes a limited number of food scans per day and basic trend reporting. Pro is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks unlimited scans, full nutrition history, custom protein targets, and personalised boost suggestions.
- Pro Monthly — billed monthly via your Apple ID.
- Pro Yearly — includes a 3-day free trial, then billed annually via your Apple ID. Cancel any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. All purchases are processed and managed by Apple under the terms of the Apple Media Services Agreement.
6. AI Food Analysis & Generated Content
Protein-X uses artificial intelligence (including third-party vision models) to identify food in your photos and estimate the protein content of each ingredient. These estimates are approximations based on visual cues and typical portion sizes. They are not a substitute for laboratory analysis, food labels, or professional nutrition advice. Real protein content varies with portion size, preparation, brand, and recipe. You remain fully responsible for any dietary, health, or training decisions you make based on the app.
7. Apple Health Integration
If you grant permission, Protein-X reads and writes Dietary Protein samples to the Apple Health app so your daily totals stay in sync across apps. You can revoke this permission at any time in iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Protein-X. We never read other Health categories beyond Dietary Protein.
8. Location & Nearby Sources
The Radar feature uses your device location to find nearby supermarkets, restaurants, and protein-rich food options. We only request location while the app is in use. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the app continues to work without location.
9. Amazon Associates & Affiliate Links
Some product suggestions in Protein-X include Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, JAG Studio Ltd earns a commission from qualifying purchases made through these links at no extra cost to you. The presence of an affiliate link does not constitute a product endorsement; we surface options that match your daily protein gap.
10. User Content
You retain ownership of the photos and information you submit to Protein-X. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process this content solely for the purpose of providing the service (scanning food, generating estimates, syncing to Health, and improving the product). You must not upload content that is illegal, infringing, sexual, violent, or otherwise harmful.
11. Prohibited Use
- No reverse engineering, scraping, or automated abuse of the API.
- No attempts to bypass the free-tier limits or paywall.
- No uploading of illegal, sexual, violent, or hateful content.
- No impersonation or misleading activity.
12. Availability & Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be flagged in the app or by updating the date above.
13. Disclaimer
Protein-X is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties regarding the accuracy of protein estimates, the availability of the service, or its fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in the app constitutes medical, nutritional, or fitness advice.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JAG Studio Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any health, dietary, or financial outcome resulting from reliance on the app's estimates. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (or £0 if you have not paid).
15. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Settings → Profile → Delete account in the app. We may terminate or suspend access if you violate these Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
